Tyler Gaylord was selected as Pass Christian Middle School’s Teacher of the Year in May 2014. Mr. Gaylord, who graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, began his teaching career two and a half years ago at Pass Christian Middle School as the eighth grade social studies teacher. Administrators and fellow teachers were immediately impressed with Mr. Gaylord’s ability to captivate his young audience with historical facts, stories, and comedy. In addition to teaching, Mr. Gaylord also challenges his students to be active in extra-curricular activities.   This is his second year as the baseball coach.

Tyler Gaylord is the son of Sam Gaylord of Baxter, Tennessee and Wanda Montgomery of Noxapater, Mississippi. He is married to Brittany Gaylord, who is also an educator. When asked about his feelings on being selected by his peers as PCMS Teacher of the Year, Mr. Gaylord responded, “It is a great honor for me to be selected by my fellow teachers, all who are just as deserving as I am.  I am thankful to work in such a wonderful school district and school with so many great administrators, educators, and students who make my job both enjoyable and fulfilling.”
