|Pass Christian Middle School’s 2014-2015 Journey students presented Principal Joe Nelson with a check for the student Renaissance fund.

The sixth grade gifted Journey class at Pass Christian Middle School (PCMS) donated the proceeds from their class project "Market Day" to Principal Joe Nelson to be placed in the PCMS Renaissance fund, which is used to honor academic and character excellence. The Journey students participated in Market Day during May of 2015. The students were divided into teams and given the challenge to create their own business to promote an original product that they designed. The teams were then placed into the "Shark Tank" which was made up of a panel of PCMS administrators, teachers, and former Journey students. The teams presented their products using an infomercial that they created and explained why their product would be marketable to the students at Pass Christian Elementary School (PCES). Once the students "survived" the shark's tank, they began mass producing their products and created signs to promote their products to hang around PCES. The students also went to every classroom at PCES to show examples of their products and to promote for Market Day. Next, the students at PCES (K-5) excitedly brought their nickels, dimes, and quarters to shop at the businesses of the Journey students. After the expense of a well-earned lunch of pizza and snacks, the Journey students donated over six hundred dollars to the PCMS Renaissance Fund. Special thanks to Journey teachers, Mrs. Jane Bunn and Mrs. Lori Fisher, and the 2014-2015 PCMS Journey students (not in picture order): CC Annulis, Rhayna Ashley, Jake Battles, Aiden Brand, Dillan Brooks, Claire Carter, Haley Clark, Caden Councilman, Noelle Cooper, Haden Cuevas, Jeep DeWitt, Courtney Estay, Gabe Fales, Keon Farmer, Kyle Foretich, Alyssa Foster, Iris Gardner, Diego Gutierrez, Jalynn Hinton, Kyle Huidobro, Mackenzie Lacy, Ayden Ladner, Dalton Ladner, Sophie Lanier, Kendrick Lowery, Mykenzie Mannion, Dane May, Sutton McConnell, Evan McCoy, Brianna McKay, Dylan Necaise, Brianna Noyes, Anna Scafide, Colbie Smith, Blanden Stinsen, Sawyer Studstill, Joy Thornton, Taylor Tinsley, Ian Trochesset, Brayden Walling, Briar Williams, and Donnally Williams.
