SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION

AND TITLE IX COMPLIANCE

It is the belief of the Pass Christian Public School District that ALL persons are accepted, valued, and safe. The district strives to create and maintain an environment where all persons are treated with dignity, decency, and respect. The district will not tolerate unlawful discrimination or harassment of any kind against any employee, student, or applicant for employment on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, genetic information, marital status, and protected veterans.

The Board of Trustees will not tolerate discrimination or harassment activity of or by any of its employees and or students. All employees, regardless of their position(s), are covered by and are expected to comply with this policy and to ensure that prohibited conduct does not occur. This policy similarly applies to non-employee volunteers, contractors, and sub-contractors who work subject to the control of school authorities. Through enforcement of this policy and by education of its employees, the Pass Christian Public School District will seek to prevent, correct, and discipline behavior that violates this policy (Policy Code: GBR - Sexual Harassment).

The district’s Title IX Coordinator is: Dr. Robyn Killebrew, Assistant Superintendent of Schools

, located at 6457 Kiln-DeLisle Road, Pass Christian MS  39571.  The coordinator may be reached via telephone at 228-255-6200, internal extension 110; via fax at (228) 255-1571; or via email at [email protected].

The Title IX Coordinator is the person authorized by the school district to coordinate the District’s Title IX compliance program. Any person may report sex discrimination, including sexual harassment (whether or not the person reporting is the person alleged to be the victim of conduct that could constitute sex discrimination), in person, by mail, by telephone, or e-mail, or by any other means that results in the Title IX Coordinator receiving the person’s verbal or written report. Any District employee who knows or learns information concerning conduct related to sexual harassment or allegations of sexual harassment should immediately notify the Title IX Coordinator.
